need a better way of recording the vocals. sounds like the mic was being overloaded in numerous places.

This is awesome!!! Holy shit. You should be on best of the week and on best tracks of all time for sure. This is great stuff. Mixed and mastered very well. The song structure is also very good. I love the guitar leads in the background. I'm not sure if you did this, but in parts like the chorus you should record two more backing vocal tracks and pan them all the way. This makes it more audible when the chorus comes in and makes it more powerful. You have a very good voice and you should try to change it up a bit every now and then, trills and the sort.
